CSM allows businesses to use their FBA inventory to fulfill orders placed through non-Amazon channels. The demonstration showcases how to integrate Shopify with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, create a multi-channel fulfillment preview, and send orders to Amazon for processing. The process ensures seamless order management and updates across platforms, providing a complete fulfillment cycle.

Amazon’s multi-channel fulfillment functionality is a game-changer for businesses looking to optimize their order fulfillment processes. This feature lets you instruct Amazon to use your FBA inventory stock to fulfill orders placed through non-Amazon channels, such as other e-commerce platforms. This video delves into how this functionality works and its benefits.
We start by examining a sales order in Dynamics 365 Business Central, integrated with Shopify using CSM. The sales order for a coffee mug is retrieved from Shopify into Business Central. The next step involves creating a multi-channel fulfillment preview, which makes an API call to Amazon. This retrieves available fulfillment options ordered by shipping speed—standard, expedited, and priority. Amazon provides relevant information for each option, including arrival dates, fees, and whether the option is fulfillable based on the shipping address.
After reviewing the information, we select the expedited shipping option and create an Amazon multi-channel fulfillment order. This order taps into the CSM for Amazon FBA channel, pulling most of the information from the original sales order, including item quantity and shipping details. Additional comments, such as “Thank you for your order,” can be added at this stage.
Once the order is released, it is sent to Amazon, and we retrieve updated information, such as estimated ship and arrival dates. By refreshing the connected Amazon Seller Central account, we can see the multi-channel order, complete with shipping details and comments. When Amazon ships the order, CSM for Amazon retrieves the shipping information, updating the multi-channel fulfillment order in Business Central with details like the fulfillment center, shipment date, and tracking number. The relevant shipment is posted in Business Central. CSM for Shopify sends the tracking information back to the original order in Shopify, ensuring the customer has access to all necessary details.
This streamlined process provides a complete multi-channel fulfillment cycle, enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction.
