Using Claude to Build an Analysis Report in HomeBuilder

This how-to video shows how Claude.ai connects directly to your HomeBuilder solution inside Dynamics 365 Business Central, pulling live lot and task data to build a formatted analysis report through a plain conversation, no manual exports or report configuration required.

What You’ll See in This Video

The video walks through a full working example using the HomeBuilder MCP connector in Claude. Starting from a simple request to list lots, the walkthrough builds toward a task-by-lot matrix: tasks running down the left side, lots across the top, with color-coded status indicators showing completed, in-progress, and pending work.

From there, follow-up prompts replace the status markers with actual completion dates and apply conditional formatting: green for on-time completion, red for tasks running 8 or more days late, and black for work not yet scheduled. The final step is a single prompt requesting an Excel download, which Claude generates directly from the report it built.

The video also demonstrates something worth knowing before you start: you don’t need to know the exact field names in your HomeBuilder data. Claude works with plain language descriptions and finds the right fields on its own.

Who This Is For

This video is useful for production builder project managers and operations leads who want faster visibility into task completion status across lots and phases, without building formal reports or pulling data manually.
