What You’ll Learn

You’ll discover how to automate your CSM routines, so they run on a schedule without manual intervention. This video walks through setting up job queue entries and shows you an advanced technique for running different sales channels on separate schedules.

Key Concepts Covered

CSM Automation Routines

Your sales channels (Amazon, Shopify, Magento) each come with automation routines that handle specific tasks:

  • Retrieving orders from your marketplace
  • Processing payments
  • Managing FBA and FBM fulfillment
  • Syncing product listings

These routines can run automatically once you configure them with Business Central’s job queue.

Job Queue Basics

The job queue is standard Business Central functionality that schedules recurring tasks. You can set routines to execute every hour, daily, or on whatever frequency works for your business.

Two Core Automation Types

Order Management (Codeunit 70010065)

  • Handles order retrieval and processing
  • Default Code Unit ID: “order mgt default”

Listing Management (Codeunit 70010066)

  • Manages product catalog syncing
  • Default Code Unit ID: “listing mgmt default”

Standard Setup Process

  1. Navigate to job queue entries in Business Central
  2. Create a new entry and select the CSM automation codeunit
  3. Set your schedule (hourly, daily, etc.)
  4. Choose background execution to avoid interrupting regular operations
  5. Activate the entry, and you’re done

Once running, the job queue automatically executes any automation routine marked as scheduled.

Advanced Configuration: Multiple Job Queues

You can separate your automations by sales channel. For example, run Amazon orders on one schedule and Shopify orders on another.

How it works:

  1. Create custom Code Unit IDs (like “order management Amazon”)
  2. Assign these IDs to specific automation routines
  3. Set up separate job queue entries targeting each Code Unit ID
  4. Each queue runs independently on its own schedule

This gives you granular control over when different channels sync and process orders.

When to Use This

You’ll want automated job queues when:

  • You’re processing orders from multiple marketplaces
  • You need hands-off order synchronization
  • You want different channels updating at different intervals
  • You’re managing high-volume product catalogs

Next Steps

After watching this video, you can:

  • Set up your first job queue entry for CSM automations
  • Configure separate schedules for different sales channels
  • Find detailed configuration options in the CSM Knowledge Base
