Ten years ago, Suite Engine was a small team with a specific idea: build software that actually fits how equipment dealers, production builders, and multi-channel retailers work, inside the Microsoft ecosystem they already depend on.
That idea became one app. That one app became 27.
Suite Engine was founded on February 29, which means we only get to celebrate on our actual birthday every four years. Ten years in, we’re making an exception.
Suite Engine launched its first product, RPM (Rental Process Management), for equipment dealers managing equipment across rental, sales, and service operations. At the time, the options for industry-specific functionality within Dynamics 365 Business Central were limited. Generic workarounds were the norm. We thought businesses deserved better.
We listed RPM on Microsoft AppSource in the platform’s early days, when the Business Central ISV ecosystem was still taking shape. It was a bet on where the Microsoft partner channel was headed. Ten years later, that bet looks pretty good.
“We built RPM because equipment dealers deserved a real solution, not a patchwork of spreadsheets and disconnected, old legacy systems. Business Central was the right foundation for the future. One ERP platform for the entire dealership operation: rental, sales, service, parts, and accounting. That conviction hasn’t changed.”
~ Tom Marshello, RPM Product Director, Suite Engine
Twenty-seven apps. Three industries. One platform.
What started with equipment dealers expanded to residential production builders with HomeBuilder, giving construction teams the tools to manage every phase of a home build within Dynamics 365 Business Central.
“Production builders have been underserved by ERP solutions for too long. HomeBuilder was built to change that. Every feature we’ve added comes directly from what builders told us they needed, and that’s not changing in year eleven.”
~ Matthew Welford, HomeBuilder Product Director, Suite Engine
Multi-channel retailers managing complex Amazon FBA and eCommerce operations found their solution in Channel Sales Manager (CSM) and Channel Payments Manager (CPM). Along the way, Suite Engine added tools for retention management with Retainage (Holdbacks), developer tools with API Engine, and more.
“The multi-channel retail space moves fast. Our partners bring us clients who are struggling with disconnected systems, manual reconciliation and data entry, and fulfillment headaches. What we’ve built for that space, fully embedded within Business Central, gives those businesses their time back. Watching that happen never gets old.”
~ Stacy Dose, Channel Growth and Development, Suite Engine
Each product grew from the same place: a real business problem that generic software wasn’t solving. That’s still how we build today.
A product is only as good as the partners and clients who use it. The Microsoft VARs and consultants who brought Suite Engine into client conversations, pushed back when something wasn’t working, and championed the products to businesses who needed them. The clients who trusted an early-stage ISV and gave us honest feedback. Every one of those relationships shaped what Suite Engine is today.
“Building a brand from the ground up means making thousands of small decisions about how a company sounds, looks, and shows up for the people it serves. What I’m most proud of is that Suite Engine’s voice has always felt like us: direct, approachable, and genuinely focused on helping people do their jobs better. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because the products are actually good and the people behind them actually care.”
~ Heather Wang, Marketing Lead, Suite Engine
This milestone belongs to you as much as it belongs to us.
Ten years in, we’re not slowing down. New product development is underway across multiple product lines. Expanded markets are opening for Retainage. Our integration capabilities are growing. And we’re building with a clearer picture of what our clients and partners need than we’ve ever had before.
“Ten years ago we made a bet that businesses running on Business Central deserved industry-specific tools built for the way they actually work. That bet paid off. What excites me about the next ten years is that we’re better positioned than ever to keep that promise, across more industries, with more partners, and with more of the Microsoft ecosystem behind us than ever before.”
~ Tammy Fawcett, Director, Suite Engine
The next decade starts now. We’re glad you’re part of it.
